The fully renovated function rooms at 1st Cloud Arena are a home for live entertainment, as well as for occasions ranging from birthday parties to weddings.
We have three function rooms available to hire: a beautiful marquee which holds up to 200 people, a stylish main function room (the Shipley Heating Lounge) which holds up to 100, and an atmospheric smaller function room (the Barbour Lounge) which holds up to 60.
There is a £60 room hire charge for each of those facilities, but that fee is waived if you take out a catering package with us for your event. There is also a £100 refundable security deposit which you will receive back after the event, providing there is no damage.
Meanwhile, our downstairs function room – known as Julio’s Bar and Restaurant – is open from 12pm to 3pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Sunday, with delicious food available to buy between those times. There’s no need to book so please just come down and sample what we have to offer!

Due to current restrictions as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, the timings listed above do not apply. The restaurant at 1st Cloud Arena is closed until further notice and although private functions can now take place, we can only accept functions with limited numbers of guests at present. If you have a private function booked and would like to move to another date – or simply would like clarification about your booking – please call 0191 454 7800 or send an email to email@example.com.
The marquee bar is now open again and tables can be pre-booked. Our opening hours are Fridays from 5pm to 11pm, Saturdays from 12pm to 11pm and Sundays from 12pm to 6pm. On Sundays, you can order meals between 12pm and 2pm which will be brought to you in the marquee. Indoor marquee tables can be booked in three-hour time slots for a deposit of £10 by calling 07519862723.
We are planning for the future post-coronavirus and are happy to take bookings for private functions later in 2020 and into 2021. Please get in touch with us to book a date.
We also now offer a Thursday evening and Sunday lunch delivery service for anyone who is missing our food! Please call 0191 454 7800 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to book for any upcoming Sunday. Meals are £7.95 and the meats available on Sundays are pork, turkey, gammon and beef. Our Thursday meals are chilli con carne, mince and dumplings, pan-fried chicken breast in an arrabiata pasta, and vegetarian wild mushroom risotto. Delivery – within a five-mile radius of 1st Cloud Arena – is free.
