Washington game OFF

Today’s Northern League Division Two clash with Washington has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

The match had been due to go ahead at 3pm this afternoon, but after a pitch inspection this morning, the surface was deemed not fit for play.

The postponement means South Shields’s run of weeks without a game in the league has been extended, with the last Division Two fixture involving the Mariners taking place on December 28.

Full details of the rearranged fixture against Washington will be released in due course.

Shields’s next scheduled game is on Wednesday, with a trip to Northallerton Town in the league.
