Warren Byrne joins Seaham Red Star on loan
South Shields striker Warren Byrne has joined Seaham Red Star on loan for two months.
The move is to allow the popular player to get additional game-time in the Northern League after being restricted to six substitute appearances so far this season.
Warren could play for Red Star – who he initially joined Shields from in 2015 – in their game at Guisborough Town tonight.
Last season was an incredible one for the striker, who scored 31 times in 43 appearances in all competitions as the Mariners surged to the Northern League Division Two title.
Several spectacular strikes were included in that tally, including his now legendary goal against Tow Law Town, which earned him the Budweiser Dream Goal prize.
The club wishes Warren all the very best for the next two months, with the striker due to return to Mariners Park at the end of November.
