Manager Jon King insisted his South Shields players “did the town proud” with their performance in Wednesday’s classic FA Vase tie with Morpeth Town.

The third round match went the way of the Highway Men on penalties after a thrilling 3-3 draw.

The Mariners created numerous opportunities to win the game, but an inspired goalkeeping performance from Morpeth’s Karl Dryden kept them at bay when they looked set to score a winner.

In the video above, King discusses the match, and the ‘outstanding’ performance of his team.
