South Shields FC’s current Under-16s side are looking ahead to a bright future.
Next season, the team will play Saturday football in the Durham FA Under-18s League.
They are looking to recruit players with a passion for the game and a dedication to development.
All league games will kick-off at 1.30pm, and the league will be best-suited to players currently playing to a high standard.
All games are played on Saturday afternoons, so Sunday teams will not be affected, although a dedication to coaching sessions will be required.

It is derby day at Mariners Park on Sunday when South Shields FC’s Under-16s side entertain sister team SSFC Inter.
The match kicks off at 11am, and with both teams looking to start the season with a win, it promises to be an entertaining occasion.
Supporters are welcome at the game to catch up on the progress of the club’s youngsters, with all of the usual matchday facilities in operation.
There will be no admission charge for what promises to be a great day of youth football, as following the Under-16s encounter, a Durham County Cup game featuring the club’s Under-13s side is due to kick off at 2pm.
Last season was South Shields FC Under-16s’ first together, and they won their division in the Russell Foster Youth League, scoring over 100 goals and dropping only four points, while South Shields Under-13s won both their league and cup, and this season will play at a higher age group to encourage development.
The club’s two Under-16s teams are set to face each other in each side’s first league game of the season next week.
The match, a Russell Foster Youth League Division One fixture, will take place on Sunday, September 6, from 11am.
It will see the club’s FC Under-16s side take on the FC Inter Under-16s, and all supporters are welcome to attend.
