South Shields Raiders Under-11s fought back from a 3-0 deficit to claim a remarkable 8-5 victory over Byers Green Eagles Under-11s on Saturday.

Shields’ left-footed wizard Thomas Charlton grabbed four in an outstanding individual performance, with the other goals coming from Lewis Ledbitter with a brace, Spencer Cairns and a fine individual goal from Jack Urwin.

Urwin ran with the ball from his own half, shrugged off the attention of a chasing defender and neatly beat the advancing keeper.

A fantastic game of attacking football from both sides on a heavy pitch made this an exciting game to watch for all attending.

South Shields FC Raiders: Golightly, Miller, Arkle, Richardson, Cairns, Young (c), Longstaff, Scott, Ledbitter. Subs: T Charlton, B Charlton, Urwin.
