A pitch inspection will take place at 11am tomorrow ahead of South Shields’s home clash with Thornaby.
The Northern League Division Two clash is due to take place at 3pm, but due to the recent weather conditions the game is in some doubt.
Shields will be desperately hoping to get the game on at Eden Lane in Peterlee, as they have not played in the league since December 28.
Updates following the inspection will be made via the club website and Twitter account (@southshieldsfc).

South Shields can only but hope that tomorrow’s home game against Thornaby will get the go ahead.
A pitch inspection – should it be required – will determine the issue in the morning, in view of the prevailing weather and the forecast.
If conditions are adverse, a friendly has been arranged as a contingency and will be held at Mortimer School, with the kick-off expected to be the same as last week at 2pm.
Shields expect to have an almost full-strength squad available for selection, so no doubt new signings will be featured in the line-up or be included on the subs bench.
The Mariners beat Thornaby in mid-September, and if the fixture is played will hope to complete a double and win three points to climb a little further up the league table, possibly into the top half.
So, best said it’s fingers crossed and hope for a bit of luck with the weather.
