The club is delighted to welcome The Westoe Practice on board as new main sponsor after the health centre won the prize draw.
The practice, based in Elizabeth Street, South Shields, was one of dozens of businesses which entered the sponsorship draw for £100.
The company will now get its name on Shields’ home shirt for this season, as well as a large perimeter advertisement board at the club’s ground, Eden Lane in Peterlee.
The Westoe Practice was picked at random by South Shields MP Emma Lewell-Buck yesterday, and the company’s owner, Dean Glozier, says he hopes a fruitful relationship can now be struck with the Mariners.
He said: “I was absolutely thrilled to hear the news – it will be great to be involved with the club.
“My business is all about health and well-being, and improving performance, so this is a unique opportunity for me.
“My vision is to change the way people view health, and everything my business does is about optimum health.
“We have a fantastic team of physiotherapists and dieticians, and we are all about increasing performance and helping with rehabilitation from injury.
“We work to preserve health, increase longevity and speed recovery, and that will combine really well with the club.
“We might be able to help them in ways they don’t even expect.”
The Westoe Practice’s logo will also feature on the front cover of every Shields matchday programme this season, while there will be a full-page advert inside.
The company follows in the footsteps of Westoe Lettings, which won the sponsor draw last year.
South Shields chairman Gary Crutwell has paid tribute to all those who took part in the draw.
He said: “We would like to thank everyone who entered the draw.
“It was a great way of helping the club get through a difficult period in Peterlee.
“I’m over the moon for the winner, and we look forward to a good working relationship with Dean and the company.”
Even those who were unsuccessful in the draw will enjoy benefits over the next 12 months, with a business advertisement and weblink placed on the club website, while each company’s details will be in every matchday programme this season.
As the winner, The Westoe Practice will also get complimentary tickets to all Mariners corporate events, match sponsorship of a game of their choice, and their company logo on a regular newsletter sent out to subscribers.
Once again, South Shields FC would like to thank every company and individual who entered the draw for their support.
South Shields Football Club is delighted to announce the relaunch of the £100 sponsorship draw.
For just £100, companies and members of the public are being invited to enter a prize draw to win a package normally worth between £5,000 and £10,000.
The club ran a similar initiative last year, which Westoe Lettings won, and such was the success of it, the Mariners have decided to launch it again.
Even those who are unsuccessful in the draw will enjoy benefits, with a business advertisement and web link placed on the club website, and their company contact details in every matchday programme for this season.
The winner will get a host of rewards, including their company name and logo on the Mariners’ home strip, as well as a large perimeter advertisement board at Shields’ ground, Eden Lane in Peterlee.
The logo will also feature on the front cover of every matchday programme, as well as a full-page advert inside.
Shields moved out of the town last summer, and will again play their home games in Peterlee this season, but are hopeful of making an announcement soon regarding a return to South Tyneside.
Club chairman Gary Crutwell is hoping for at least 60 entrants to the prize draw, which he feels is crucial for the future of the club.
He said: “If the community – both in terms of businesses and individuals – gets behind it, it will go a long way to helping with the running costs this season.
“It is an excellent package and would provide good publicity for the winners.
“The package is quite extensive for just £100, and everyone will get something for their money.
“Everyone at the club is working towards getting back into the town, and this initiative helped us so much last year that we have decided to do it again.
“Anyone can enter this – even those who just want to support the football club on an individual basis – and it really would help us massively.”
Cathy Lowther, letting manager at Westoe Lettings, which won the sponsor draw last year, said: “Westoe Lettings Ltd, have been proud to have sponsored South Shields Football Club this past year.
“We have benefited from free advertising in the programmes, a pitch board at the Peterlee ground and our company logo on the shirts.
“We entered the draw not thinking we would win, but wanted to participate in this local competition.
“As you can imagine, we were very excited about winning and have enjoyed the relationship we have developed with South Shields Football Club.
“I would recommend any business to enter the draw as the amount of advertising and exposure for any business is worth entering.
“We would like to wish everyone good luck for this year.”
The club’s main sponsor will also get complimentary tickets to all Mariners corporate events, match sponsorship of a game of their choice, and their company logo on a regular newsletter sent out to subscribers.
The draw will be made on September 15.
