South Shields will play their first match in the 2021-22 FA Youth Cup when they host Pickering Town on Monday.

The Mariners received a walkover in the preliminary round after opponents Guisborough Town withdrew, so their first action in the competition comes at the first qualifying round stage.

The game will kick-off at 7.30pm at 1st Cloud Arena and support would be hugely appreciated. Admission prices are £3 for adults and £1 for concessions, with cash turnstiles in operation.

The young Mariners have enjoyed some notable achievements in this competition in the past, particularly in the 2018-19 and 2019-20 campaigns, when they reached the second round and third round respectively.

Last season, Wess Brown’s side progressed to the third qualifying round before being beaten 4-2 on penalties by Altrincham.
