The club would like to wish good luck to goalkeeper Aidan Grant, who has joined Peterborough United on a non-contract basis.

The 19-year-old (the tallest member of the back row in the above picture) played three times for the Mariners this season, with the last of those appearances coming against Tow Law Town on September 2.

Grant conceded just twice in his three games for his hometown club – both of which came against Hebburn Town in last month’s 2-2 draw.

His deal at Peterborough will last until the end of the season, after he spent a short trial period at the club. He also spent time with the Posh over the summer, and has now been handed their number 32 shirt.

Grant’s former clubs also include Newcastle United and Aston Villa, and he is expected to be on the bench tomorrow as League One leaders Peterborough host Notts County at London Road.

South Shields FC wishes Aidan all the best for the future.
