Paul Kane has been named South Shields’ Player of the Month for October 2014.

Above, he is pictured with Steve Elliott, contracts manager of club sponsors Shaun Matthias, being presented with a bottle of champagne for his achievement.

The striker has grabbed 17 goals for the Mariners so far this season, including eight in five games in October.

He netted hat-tricks against Whitley Bay and Easington Colliery, and was also on the scoresheet against Billingham Town and Norton and Stockton Ancients.

In the video below, Kane and manager Jon King discuss the award and the striker’s form.
