Long-serving striker Stephen Ramsey told of his delight after scoring the winner in South Shields’ final game of the season on Wednesday.

Ramsey headed in a Ben Riding throw with 12 minutes left at the Calvert Stadium as champions Shields ended the season on 107 points.

Goalkeeper Scott Pocklington declared he had “enjoyed every minute” of his debut season at South Shields after the Mariners completed their league campaign.

Pocklington kept a clean sheet in the Mariners’ 1-0 win at Northallerton Town, and afterwards hailed his team-mates.

South Shields manager Jon King felt his side showed why they won Ebac Northern League Division Two in their battling final-day victory at Northallerton Town.

The Mariners won 1-0 at the Calvert Stadium to finish the season on 107 points – 13 points clear of nearest rivals Ryhope CW.

In the video above, King talks about the achievements of the team, and their performance at Northallerton.

He also goes on to look ahead to the summer, and reveals why he will not be switching off during the off-season.
