The Mariners Park attendance record of 2,651 is set to be broken on Saturday when South Shields take on Newport Pagnell Town in the quarter-final of the Buildbase FA Vase.
A crowd of about 3,000 is expected to pack into the ground to watch the much-anticipated fixture.
Because of the large numbers, the area around Mariners Park on matchday is likely to be extremely busy, and parking may be difficult the closer we get to 3pm.
However, supporters are reminded that Bede Metro station is within a short walking distance of the ground if alternative transport is deemed necessary.
Below are two images which demonstrate the closeness of the Metro station.
If you are bringing your car, the club politely asks for your continued assistance in not parking in private areas belonging to businesses who are operating on matchdays, not blocking entrances, taking note of signage and avoiding damaging grass verges.
Supporters will be able to gain access to Mariners Park from 11am on Saturday ahead of the Buildbase FA Vase quarter-final against Newport Pagnell Town.
Drinks deals will be in operation at the ground between 11am and 1pm, while singer/song-writer Tony Bengtsson will be performing between 12pm and 1pm in the clubhouse.
Until 1pm, pints of Birra Moretti will be available for £2.80, Foster’s will be £2.40, and John Smith’s will be £2.20. You can also get two bottles of Old Mout Cider for £5.50, and a single house vodka with mixer will be £2.
Alcohol, food and hot drinks will also be sold from the new diner at Mariners Park, which is located next to turnstiles one and two on the Shaftesbury Avenue side of the ground.
After 2.30pm, all alcoholic beverages will need to be bought and consumed inside the clubhouse under FA rules.
Over 2,500 tickets have been sold for the match so far, but if you haven’t got one yet, it’s not too late.
This is an all-ticket fixture, so supporters who would like to attend are urged to get in touch quickly to secure theirs.
Tickets are £6 for adults, £4 for students and over-65s, and £2 for under-16s. They can be bought by calling 0191 454 7800 or visiting Mariners Park anytime between 9am and 8pm.
Thank you for the outstanding support and we look forward to seeing you on Saturday.
