Gavin Cogdon was at the heart of many of South Shields’ greatest successes of the last five years.

In a three-year spell which started in the summer of 2016, Gavin won two promotions and five trophies with the Mariners, scoring 56 goals in 107 appearances before returning to previous club Spennymoor Town.

In the absence of live football, we are committed to providing you with features to keep your mind occupied and conjure some incredible memories.

Michael Manuel spoke to Gavin over Zoom to record a special two-part feature, titled Mariners Rewind, in which the striker talks about his most memorable moments at Mariners Park, from a remarkable quadruple-winning season to an unforgettable Wembley experience, and his unique friendship with Dillon Morse.

We may be a bit biased, but we are convinced it is well worth an hour or so of your time. The feature is split into two parts and both are available to view below. Enjoy!
