With the country and indeed the world battling the coronavirus pandemic, 1st Cloud Arena will remain closed to the public for the foreseeable future.

That will remain the case until the Government’s social distancing advice, as well as the order for all pubs, clubs and restaurants to be closed, is changed.

Everyone at South Shields FC wishes players, staff members, volunteers, supporters, sponsors and the wider community all the very best of health during this difficult period.

Please continue to follow the Government advice to stay at home wherever possible and ensure that the current crisis is as short-lived as possible.

The club is planning for life after the pandemic is over and hope to give people something to look forward to in the medium to long-term future.

As such, we are taking bookings for private functions at 1st Cloud Arena late in 2020 and into 2021, and welcome any enquiries for room hire availability. Please call 0191 454 7800 or email info@southshieldsfc.co.uk if you are interested in making a provisional booking.

All those with functions currently booked in are asked to follow the latest updates from the Government. Should the measures which are currently in place be extended, we will be in contact with you to arrange the next steps regarding your function.

In-keeping with our wish to give supporters and the community to look forward to, we will soon release details of a number of events we plan to hold at 1st Cloud Arena – subject to restrictions being lifted – including a Christmas party on Saturday, December 4 and lunch on Christmas Day. Please watch out for updates.

The club office is also currently closed, with a limited number of staff working remotely to meet demand. The phone line at 0191 454 7800 continues to be operational and can be contacted for any enquiries, including those regarding season tickets and sponsorship.

Thank you for your continued backing.

We are ready to serve up a treat this Mother’s Day at Mariners Park.

Indulge with your mum on this special day at the home of South Shields FC.

Meanwhile, we continue to offer two-course specials every Thursday, Friday and Sunday at Mariners Park.

Two courses are available for £7.50 on Thursdays and Fridays and £8.50 on Sundays, with booking not required for non-specified occasions.

Supporters are set to enjoy a wider range of food options on matchdays at Mariners Park.

The famous Dicksons saveloy dips, mince pies and steak slices are to be sold from the food kiosks, starting at this Saturday’s game against Lancaster City in the BetVictor Northern Premier Division.

The prospect of saveloy dips – widely acknowledged as one of South Tyneside’s favourite delicacies – being on the menu is sure to prove a tantalising one for many, so make sure you get down early to enjoy one while stocks last!
