South Shields were beaten 1-0 by Hebburn Town on Saturday in the South Tyneside derby at Peterlee.

Shaun Reay’s 18th-minute goal earned the win for the Ebac Northern League Division Two promotion chasers.

Paul Kane scored two terrific goals in the second half as the Mariners came from behind to claim all three points.
