South Shields Reserves will look to put Wednesday’s narrow defeat to Coxhoe Athletic behind them when they take on Harton and Westoe in a Wearside League derby clash on Friday.

The Mariners had won three games in a row prior to Wednesday’s 3-2 loss, which came despite goals from Soyfur Chaudhury and Leon McKeith.

Shields are 11th in the table, a point ahead of Harton and Westoe, who sit 15th.

The two clubs groundshare at the Harton and Westoe Miners’ Welfare Ground, and Harton and Westoe are classed as the home team on Friday.

They will be hoping to avenge a 2-0 defeat to the Mariners earlier in the season.

Kick-off in Friday’s game is at 7.30pm, with admission costing £2.50 for adults and £1 for concessions. The bar will be open from 7pm.
