South Shields have re-signed Scottish youngster Daniel Hall, and the versatile player is expected to be available to make his second debut for the club in Saturday’s FA Vase match at Whitley Bay.
Hall, who came through the ranks at Cowdenbeath, played nine times for the Mariners last season before returning to Scotland.
However, the 19-year-old, from Dunfermline, is now back in the North East, and has opted to rejoin Jon King’s side.
King completed the signing of Hall after training on Thursday night, and the player is now expected to provide extra competition in the Mariners squad.
Hall views his best position as midfield, although he was mostly deployed at right-back last season.
King said he was “over the moon” to land the teenager for a second time, and revealed Shields beat off some late interest from elsewhere to complete the signing.
The manager said: “We’ve just signed Dan Hall again, and that is a great signing for us.
“I knew Dan was coming back about six months ago, so it was a transfer that was always going to go through.
“We have just fought off some late competition from a couple of Northern League clubs, so we’re over the moon to get his signature.”
