Captain Leepaul Scroggins was satisfied after helping South Shields to a 2-1 League Cup victory over Chester-le-Street on Tuesday.

Goals from Warren Byrne and Daryll Hall sealed Shields’ progression in front of a superb Mariners Park crowd of 747.

First-team coach David Hall felt South Shields deserved a bigger margin of victory after they defeated Chester-le-Street 2-1 in the League Cup on Tuesday.

Hall felt it was a ‘very good win’ for the Mariners, as they recorded a 16th win in a row.
