The club is running coach travel to help supporters get to this weekend’s two away trips.

The Mariners are travelling to Chester-le-Street Town on Saturday and Penrith on Monday in Northern League Division One.

The coach to Chester-le-Street will leave Mariners Park at 1.30pm, and a place on it costs £7 for those in the SSFC Members’ Club, and £10 for non-members.

The bus to Penrith, meanwhile, is £15, and will depart Mariners Park at 10.30am, with supporters set to travel with the players to the game.

South Shields recorded a 17th consecutive victory on Tuesday as they defeated Chester-le-Street Town 2-1 in the League Cup.

Goals from Warren Byrne and Daryll Hall – which sandwiched a Chester-le-Street equaliser – sealed the Mariners’ progression in the competition.

Goals from Warren Byrne and Daryll Hall made it a remarkable 16 wins in a row for South Shields on Tuesday.

The Mariners defeated Chester-le-Street 2-1 at Mariners Park in the League Cup.

The game was watched by a tremendous midweek crowd of 747, who watched Shields take a 68th minute lead and then get pegged back, before a header by Hall won the day.
