South Shields are to play their second friendly of pre-season on Tuesday – and the club will allow all fans to watch free of charge as a reward for their superb support.
The Mariners are to take on a team put together by Catalyst Professional Sports Management at Mariners Park, with the game to kick-off at 7.30pm.
The Catalyst team will include players from many different backgrounds who are looking to secure new clubs in the North East.
All supporters are invited to watch the match without having to pay for entry.
Shields joint manager Graham Fenton said: “We’re really looking forward to our latest friendly and it should be another good test for us.
“The Catalyst team will feature players of lots of different nationalities and backgrounds, and the game will give us an opportunity to get more minutes into our lads’ legs.
“We will also be able to have another look at the players who are on trial with us, and look at the Catalyst players who have come across for the match to see if any of them would improve our squad.
“There will hopefully be some good players for us to have a look at and it will be another good challenge.
“It’s also a great gesture by the club to give something back to the fans by not charging anything for them to come in and watch.
“It’s a fine way to thank the supporters for the brilliant backing they have given the club over the years.”
