Jon King admitted he was relieved to pick up three points against Birtley Town on Saturday following a “poor” performance from his South Shields side.

King felt the conditions made things difficult for his team as they struggled to find a breakthrough against the relegation contenders.

However, in the video above, he describes his feelings after goals from Robert Briggs and David Foley moved the Mariners a step closer to promotion.

He also talks about the game as a whole, and looks ahead to Wednesday’s trip to Heaton Stannington.
