We know that times are difficult at the moment and lots of our lives are simply not the same as they usually are at this time of year.
Much has been and will continue to be sacrificed as we strive for an eventual return to something like normality, but that does not mean we cannot still get into the festive spirit – albeit in a slightly different way.
South Shields FC is determined to play its part in spreading some Christmas joy.
Nominations remain open for the club’s festive surprise initiative. You have until 5pm on Wednesday to submit your nominations of Shields supporters who deserve a little Christmas lift, and can do so by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. More information is available by clicking here.
In addition to that, the club will launch a special Advent Calendar feature on Tuesday, December 1.
Between December 1 and 24, supporters will be able to enter a range of competitions to win prizes from the club and some of its sponsors, while there will be special messages from players throughout the three-and-a-half week period.
The club will also highlight six different worthy charities that supporters will be encouraged to donate to if they are able to in the lead-up to Christmas, while donations will also be requested for the club’s charitable Foundation throughout the month.
The Advent Calendar feature will kick-off with a video message from Myles Boney on Tuesday so please keep your eyes peeled for that – and the details of our competitions!
The club is also determined to do its bit to help some of those less fortunate in the lead-up to Christmas.
We are today launching a toy and food appeal, with toys to be passed on to children receiving treatment at South Tyneside District Hospital, and food to be donated to the Key 2 Life Foodbank on Boldon Lane, South Shields.
Full details on how and when supporters can donate toys and food will be made available soon.
