South Shields vs Stokesley Sports Club Preview

South Shields welcome Stokesley Sports Club to the Peterlee Eden Lane ground on Saturday, November 9th, for an Ebac Northern League Division Two fixture, kick off at 3.00pm.

The Mariners will be hoping to get back to winning ways again, following last Saturdays disappointing 1-1 result away against Alnwick Town, where in spite of the atrocious weather conditions, only one point was the final reward.

That in a game where Shields went close to scoring what would have been the decisive goal on numerous occasions, only to be denied by some indifferent finishing especially in the final quarter, some decent goal keeping and unfortunately also some ill luck.

So once again consolation with but a point away from home, and the thought of more points not won as in other recent games where chances have not been converted.

So, the incentive to go one better on Saturday to win all three points and to then get to mid table with two dozen on the board.

That said hopefully new striker Hindmarsh on short term loan as understood from West Auckland will be available plus other recent new signings to help the cause, and an almost full squad to select from for what could be a full strength X1, with the exception of the influential Smith, suspended as understood for one game for five yellow cards.

An entertaining game is anticipated, played in decent weather, and the result as hoped for.
