South Shields vs Seaham Red Star Preview

The Mariners welcome Seaham Red Star to the Eden Lane Stadium on Saturday, October 10th, for an Ebac Northern League Division Two Fixture, kick off at 3.00pm.

No doubt the visitors will provide Shields with a stern test for the points, having made a good start to the season, and currently occupy 3rd top spot.

Shields returned to winning ways midweek against Whitehaven, following two previous match defeats, and hopefully a good display with continued effort as was evident on Tuesday will now be the order of the day.

The club lie just below mid table, and a result against Red Star if possible would be greatly welcomed to help improve such matters.

Former Mariner Ben Ridding has returned to the club, and he crowned a good show on Tuesday with Shields first goal, other signings are understood to be imminent, more information later.

On other matters the floodlights have been fully serviced and now compare most favourably with any in the league and are first class, as is the excellent playing surface.

A bar is also now in operation for Saturday fixtures in a large separate room, and a TV it is further hoped will soon be provided for football games and scores etc. We are getting there …..
