South Shields Women travel to Spennymoor Town Ladies this Sunday for the first of three crucial NERWFL Premier Division games (2pm kick-off).
Shields head into the game full of confidence following their recent three-game winning streak, which featured a double against Harrogate Town AFC Women and a win against Sunderland West End Ladies under the 1st Cloud Arena floodlights.
The Moors are also coming into the game strong, fresh off the back of a 7-1 away win against bottom-placed Hull United Women, and they will be wanting to put in a strong performance in front of their supporters.
The two teams haven’t met since the opening day of the season, where the lasses won 4-1 at Harton Welfare - two goals by Annece Legg, as well as singular strikes by Sophie Greener and Eve Gatens secured the three points that day.

Sophie’s thoughts
Co-head coach Sophie Clough spoke ahead of Sunday’s game about the recent winning spell, as well as whether past fortunes at The Brewery Field might be a talking point this time around.
Josie’s thoughts
Defender Josie Foster spoke to us this week in the run-up for this weekend’s match.
She said: “It’s nice to go into the game on a three-game winning streak and knowing we’ve been playing some really good football.
“We know Spennymoor have been doing well this season, but I think everyone’s ready to play at The Brewery Field and hopefully come away with the three points!”
Information for supporters
Kick-off at The Brewery Field (DL16 6JN) is at 2pm this Sunday, April 13th.
Admission is £3, while those under 12 can enter for free.
There will be the usual facilities available around the ground, including food and drink as well as Spennymoor Town’s club shop.
