South Shields Women start 2025 with a home game against Bradford City AFC Women at Harton Welfare this Sunday (2pm kick-off).
The lasses have been without a match for three weeks over the festive period and have been without a league game for almost two months now.
Bradford should represent a good challenge, with the fourth-placed side currently sitting above the sixth-position Mariners in the NERWFL Premier Division league table by one point.
At this stage of the season, however, the standings are subject to heavy change and one positive result could cause a lot of trouble for teams in and around the top-half.
With 13 games left, plus a cup semi-final in the offing, there is plenty to look forward to as Shields look to put together a positive run.
The two teams met in October and played out a thrilling 3-3 draw at Horsfall Stadium - Sophie Greener, Becki McMahon and SSFC International Academy's Ashley Townsend grabbed the goals that day.
