South Shields Women aim to reach the DCFA Women’s Cup final this Sunday, but they will have to defeat Chester-le-Street Town Ladies to get there (1:30pm kick-off).
Harton Welfare will play host to what is likely to be a real battle between two sides who are in the hunt for some silverware this season.
Shields defeated the Cestrians two weeks ago in a 2-1 away win, but Sunday’s visitors claimed the bragging rights with a stoppage-time winner in October’s home game.
Shields gained three points after Hull United Women forfeited last weekend’s game, while Chester-le-Street head into the tie off the back of a 2-2 draw against Spennymoor Town Ladies.
Cup ties are known for their unpredictability so anything could be on the cards this weekend.

Jen’s thoughts
Jen Wootten is excited for Sunday’s task and she insists the team is up for the challenge.
She said: “It’s a big game and we’re all excited and ready to go, especially after not playing last week.
“Getting to the final would be huge for us as a team and would be a massive achievement for us all!
“The confidence across the squad is growing every week and it’s great to see everyone so buzzing for it.
“We want to go all the way!”
