South Shields Women and First Team Head Coach Matt Gatiss have parted company with immediate effect.
He leaves with the lasses sitting in fifth place in the NERWFL Premier Division after 13 games, having picked up a league record of eight wins, two draws and three defeats.
Highlights this season have included a 9-0 thrashing against Hartlepool United Women at 1st Cloud Arena and a 7-0 victory against Redcar Town Ladies a fortnight ago.
The team reached the second round of the Durham FA Women’s Cup before being knocked out on penalties against Gateshead Leam Rangers Women, while the lasses fell at the first hurdle in the Women’s FA Cup against Alnwick Town Ladies, and in the NERWFL League Cup against Spennymoor Town Ladies.
