South Shields Women look to continue their perfect start to the 2024/25 campaign when they face Sunderland West End Ladies this Sunday (2pm kick-off).
It will be the teamâs first away trip in the NERWFL Premier Division, against the club which Shields played last during 2023/24.
The most recent encounter ended in a 3-2 win for The Mariners - goals by Eve Gatens and two from Ellie White secured a second-half comeback to end the season on a high note.
A full-strength team will be available for the weekend, meaning the squad should theoretically be in the best shape to make the most of what Sunday has in store for them.Â
Alexâs thoughts
Head coach Alex Miller highlighted the teamâs togetherness during training this week as a positive consequence of the happy atmosphere around the place.
âIt means a lot,â she said.
âWhen the lasses are happy, it really shows on that pitch and thatâs really what weâre trying to nurture here at Shields.
âNot just the footballer but the person as well, making sure that the whole personâs cared for, and the whole personâs happy.
âIt really does show on the pitch and and the lasses are very much around each other; itâs probably the most âtogetherâ that weâve been and again thatâs really shown on the pitch.â
Information for supporters
Kick-off at Herrington Welfare Grounds (DH4 4LN) is at 2pm this Sunday, September 8th.
Adults will be charged ÂŁ3 for entry, but children can attend the match for free.
It would mean a lot if supporters could get behind the lasses for their first away game of the season!Â
Your teamâs players are great at soccer Undertale Yellow and have great tactics.
