Shildon host Mariners in Pre-Season friendly

South Shields will make the short trip down the A1 to face Shildon in a pre-season friendly on July 23rd.

The fixture will kick off at the J Denham Metals Stadium at 19:30.

This will be the fourth consecutive year that the two sides have met, Shields winning them all.

In last year's pre-season campaign, Shields ran out 4-0 winners, Joao Gomes netting twice in the first half.

Shildon had a strong 2023-24 season, finishing 2nd in the Northern League Division One on 91 points.

The Railwaymen missed out on promotion as West Auckland Town beat them in the play-offs.

Shildon manager Chris Hughes managed to make the J Denham Metals Stadium a fortress last season - the County Durham side lost only three times at home in the entire season.

Elliott Dickman's Mariners will travel to Shildon in hope of building a strong foundation going into the Vanarama National League North for the second season running.

Ticket prices will be released by Shildon AFC in the near future.
