After a number of years with the Mariners, academy graduate Sam Hodgson departs to take on a new challenge with Blyth Spartans.
Sam Hodgson (23) made his way through the ranks here at South Shields FC, making over 50 appearances for the Mariners since his senior debut back in October 2019.
The centre-forward accumulated playing experience by joining the likes of Stockton Town, Marske United, Blyth Spartans and Morpeth Town on loan.
This season, Hodgson has made 10 appearances for the Mariners, scoring 2 goals against Chorley in a 3-3 stalemate.
Hodgson, who joins Blyth Spartans as part of their ongoing squad strengthening, expressed his gratitude to South Shields and it's supporters for their unwavering support.

South Shields manager Elliott Dickman, had nothing but kind words to say for Hodgson as he departs his playing squad.
