South Shields host Buxton on Tuesday as they aim to continue their excellent home run in Vanarama National League North (7.45pm kick-off).
The game - sponsored by Powell Clean - is the Mariners' first midweek match at 1st Cloud Arena this season, and they go into it sitting second in the table.
Shields have won eight and drawn one of their nine home fixtures in all competitions, and are on a run of eight consecutive clean sheets at home.
Buxton are sixth and were most recently in action on Saturday, when they were beaten 3-1 by Bishop's Stortford.
Julio's thoughts
Shields manager Julio Arca has described the meeting with Buxton as ‘massive’ as his side aim to go level on points with Tamworth at the top of the table.
He said: “There has been a quick turnaround between Saturday and this game, and there has been a lot of concentration on ensuring the players recover well, because this is another massive match for us.
“Buxton are sixth in the table and have done well so far this season. They have picked up some excellent results and will see this as a good opportunity to strengthen their promotion hopes.
“From our perspective, it’s about trying to start the game well, being aggressive and disciplined and composed on the ball.
“If we do that, we will give ourselves a good chance of winning the three points.”
Team news
Shields welcome back John Lufudu after the right-back missed Saturday’s game against Tamworth due to suspension.
They hope to have Luke James available again following a knee injury but remain without Joao Gomes, who is expected to be out for about a month with his own knee injury.
