Match Preview: South Shields FC vs Kings Lynn

This weekend we welcome Kings Lynn Town to the 1st Cloud Arena in what is a special fixture as we pay our respects to our Armed Forces from Air, Land and Sea.

We go into this fixture fresh off of a 3-0 victory over Warrington Town FC in what was an impressive performance from the team.

Goals came in from Mackenzie Heaney, Dillon Morse and Paul Blackett all in the first half of the match.

Currently, we sit in 17th place in the Vanarama National League North.

Elliott's Thought's

We would like to give a warm South Shields welcome to Adam Lakeland, his staff, players, directors and all involved with Kings Lynn Town.

Tomorrow is a day in the football calendar that over the years I have found to be a very emotional and significant day. We humbly show our respects and remember all our war heroes, who have done so much for us and our country in battle. “You all will be forever remembered”.

Our recent performances have been very encouraging, and we are seeing a lot of the work we are doing on a daily basis evident in games. We believe in our style of play and for the players to carry out their roles within our game plan each match.

Our away display against Warrington was very good and the feeling of winning with our style of play was very satisfying. The players deserve a lot of the credit for the performance and result.

A special mention to Andy Inness and Phil Naisbett. They both look after our set plays attacking and defensively and the two goals last week were developed from some great work from Andy. We have also shown some great resilience in dealing with the dangers of set plays against us. Phil works so hard making sure the players know their roles in each game.

The Opposition

Kings Lynn Town are currently sitting in 3rd place in the league, but have failed to win in their last two games, their most recent win coming against Spennymoor Town when they beat them 2-1 away from home.

Their recent defeats have come against Chorley where they lost 2-1 and their midweek fixture against Farsley Celtic where they lost 2-0.
