South Shields FC are holding a Charity Football Match Featuring Former Mariners as well as some ex-players from both Sunderland and Newcastle United
Players to be confirmed in the buildup to the game Lets Kick Diabetes ,on Monday May 5th at the 1st Cloud Arena, kick off 3pm.
South Shields, UK — South Shields FC is proud to announce an exciting charity football event featuring a star-studded lineup including former players from South Shields, Sunderland and Newcastle United.
The event, aimed at raising vital funds for Diabetes UK, will take place at the 1st Cloud Arena on Monday May 5th.
Recently Chairman Geoff Thompson’s 2-year-old grandson Jude was diagnosed Type 1 Diabetic, news which came as a big shock to the family. Jude’s dad Callum and Geoff decided that they wanted to do all they could to raise awareness and vital funds to such an important cause.
Callum and his family are determined to do what they can with so many impacted by Diabetes and they decided to arrange this memorable event as an opportunity to bring together the community to make an important contribution.
‘As a father to Jude, who was recently diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, I can’t express how much it means to us to see South Shields FC come together for such a meaningful cause’ Callum said. ‘Type 1 Diabetes is a daily challenge, but the support from the community, like this charity football match, gives us hope and strength’.
‘We're incredibly grateful to South Shields FC for their generosity in raising funds for Diabetes UK, which helps provide crucial support and research. Events like this not only raise awareness but also bring people together to make a real difference. This special match will bring together legendary ex footballers from the 3 clubs, offering fans the chance to watch some of their favorite former players back in action for a great cause. The event will not only celebrate the spirit of football but also raise awareness and funds to support the ongoing fight against diabetes, which affects millions across the UK.
With the clubs boasting rich histories and passionate fanbases, this is sure to be a memorable occasion for supporters of all ages.
The event is in partnership with Diabetes UK, with all proceeds from the match going towards the charity’s vital work in supporting those living with diabetes and funding research to find a cure.
