Elliott's Programme Notes (Spennymoor (H))

Good afternoon everyone and welcome back to the 1st Cloud Arena.

We would like to give a warm South Shields welcome to Graeme Lee, his staff, players, directors and all involved with Spennymoor Town FC.

I am writing these notes before our away game on Good Friday against Darlington. Hopefully we arrive at today’s game on the back a positive result.

This season has gone by so quickly; I remember our first day of pre-season last summer and how excited we all were in starting our preparations for the season ahead.

We have had some excellent moments this season, some outstanding performances, with some well-earned wins along the way. But we have also had some difficult moments and performances which we have let ourselves down in.

On reflection of this, we know what we must do in the summer to help us with the physicality of the league. It really is a difficult division, but having a full season as the manager, I know that I will be better for this.

As this is our last home game of the season, we all would like to thank you for your unbelievable support.

You have been outstanding both home and away which means so much to us all. We will be working hard in the summer and in pre-season to make sure we are more competitive for you all next season.

We all hope you enjoy the break from football and come back in your droves to continue to get behind us next season.

We could easily moan and complain about the circumstances we have worked with this season, but we will not gain anything from this. Geoff has been very supportive in so many ways for the whole Club - not just the first team – and this support is unseen on the outside, but we are so thankful for it.

The growth of the International Academy has been a main focal point for the Club this season and we know that with this expansion, we should all benefit from this commercial aspect of the Club.

Finally, I would like to pay tribute to our current squad. The work rate we have seen week in, week out speaks volumes of these men.

It is not easy when you are at the coal face and the demands that we have set for each other is so high, that you must produce those standards daily.

The psychological and mental strength is relentless, and I couldn’t be prouder of the environment we have all created to work together on a daily basis.

As always, please continue to get behind our players and the team and we hope we can make today’s game an exciting one for you and one that we can all enjoy.

Elliott
