Ben Middlemas joins South Shields FC on loan

South Shields FC are delighted to announce the signing of Ben Middlemas from Sunderland AFC on a one month loan deal.

Ben links up with the Mariners just three games into the Vanarama National League season and aims to hit the ground running.

"I want to play every game, play every minute that I can and hopefully become a better player by the end of it"

It is not the first time that Ben Middlemas and Elliott Dickman have worked together, Dickman signed Middlemas for Sunderland's Academy when he was just 8 years old.

"I've known Elliott since I was very young, he was one of the first coaches I had at Sunderland, I've worked with him for nearly thirteen years, I know what he wants and how high his expectations are"

Elliott Dickman added: "We are delighted that Ben has agreed to to join us on months loan."

"I have known Ben and his family for a long time and his characteristics fit perfect into how we play and the team culture we have developed."

"Andy Inness has recently watched Ben play and was very positive with his feedback, so when the opportunity came for us, we both agreed that we really rate Ben highly and that he would be a good addition to our squad."
