South Shields Women co-head coaches Sophie Clough and Alex Miller have penned an open letter to the supporters following the conclusion of the 2024/25 season.
The following note was printed in yesterday's edition of The Mariner, South Shields FC's matchday programme, to commemorate everybody's efforts this season.
To our incredible fans,
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
As co-head coaches, we have had the immense privilege of leading a team that’s not only passionate and dedicated, but also supported by one of the most loyal fan bases we could ever ask for.
Your energy, your cheers, your belief in us - even during the toughest moments - have made all the difference.
Whether you’ve been with us in the stands, following along from afar, or sharing your encouragement on social media, your presence has been felt every step of the way.
You’ve helped create an atmosphere that fuels our players and reminds us why we love what we do.
This season has been a journey - full of highs, lessons, grit, and growth. Since the turn of the new year, we’ve been focused on laying strong foundations to build towards next season.
We’re incredibly proud of how far we’ve come and are aiming to finish this campaign on a high - with strong team performances and an attractive, attacking style of football that truly represents who we are.
We are so proud of what we’re building together, and even more excited about what lies ahead. The work has only just begun.
From both of us - thank you for being part of our family.
