Important information for supporters ahead of Chester-le-Street trip

Chester-le-Street Town have asked the club to make supporters aware of some important parking information ahead of Saturday’s fixture.

Parking at Moor Park is extremely restricted after Chester-le-Street installed a Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) at the ground.

That means there will only be 20 parking spaces allotted to South Shields at the game, with passes having been handed out to players and committee members to use.

As this area is extremely tight, supporters are politely asked not to attempt to make the left turn from the main road into Moor Park, as there are no turnaround areas inside.

Chester-le-Street have also requested that supporters do not park at the nearby Chester Moor pub or the Church Mouse pub.

The home club will have an individual near the turn-off advising supporters where to go to park, which will mainly be up Waldridge Lane, which is on the opposite side of the dual carriageway.

To access Waldridge Lane, follow the A167 past the left turn-off to the ground, and instead turn right at the next roundabout. Follow the next road until you reach the next roundabout, where you should take another right to get onto Waldridge Lane, where parking is available.

The club very much appreciates your backing for the team and hopes to see you at the game at Moor Park.

Admission prices are £6 for adults and £3 for over-65s, while it is free for under-16s.

Places on a supporters’ coach to the game – costing £7 for SSFC Members and £10 for non-members – are available by calling 0191 454 7800.

Chester-le-Street have also advised that they do not have a licence for the sale or consumption of alcohol outside of their clubhouse. Anyone consuming alcohol inside the ground, or found trying to carry it in, will be asked to leave.

Supporters looking for a pre-match or post-match drink are advised to use the Church Mouse pub, on Front Street.
