Molloy injury blow
By Daniel Prince
South Shields forward David Molloy is set to be out of action for at least a month with an ankle injury.
Molloy, who has scored eight goals so far this season, was forced off 20 minutes into Saturday’s 3-2 loss to Norton and Stockton Ancients at Peterlee.
He is now expected to miss at least four weeks of action, which manager Jon King has described as a “massive blow”.
He said: “Losing David for a month is a massive blow for us.
“I spoke to him on Saturday night, and he said his ankle had swelled right up.
“He had the same injury a couple of years ago and he seems to think he might be out for a bit longer, but hopefully he’ll be back in a month.”
Shields will also be without striker Stephen Ramsey soon after he picked up a red card in Saturday’s defeat.
He is expected to be handed a three-match suspension.
