Mariners face Dunston trip in Integro Cup

South Shields have been drawn away to Dunston in the second round of the Integro Cup.

The match will be played at UTS Stadium on a date yet to be confirmed.

Dunston are currently 18th in the BetVictor North West Division, with their exploits in the Emirates FA Cup having left them playing catch up, with just eight league games played so far.

They reached the second round of this competition with an impressive 5-1 victory at Scarborough Athletic on Tuesday.

Shields, meanwhile, made it through with a 4-0 win at Tadcaster Albion – who are sixth in Dunston’s league – in September.

The Mariners last met Dunston in Barrie Smith’s farewell match in July, with a Jason Gilchrist hat-trick helping them to a 4-2 win.

They also faced each other in last season’s Durham Challenge Cup semi-final at UTS Stadium, a match which Shields won 3-1 in February.

The date of the Integro Cup tie will be confirmed in due course.
