Mariners complete signing of striker Martyn Coleman from Penrith
South Shields Football Club is delighted to confirm the signing of Martyn Coleman from Penrith.
The striker, who has scored 21 goals so far this season, adds to the Mariners’ options up-front.
The 27-year-old will go straight into contention for Tuesday’s game against Hebburn Town at Mariners Park in the Ernest Armstrong Memorial Cup.
Coleman, who has also played for Workington and Celtic Nation in the past, said: “I’m really pleased to have joined the club.
“I spoke with (manager) Jon King and I liked everything he said about the club, and I wanted to be a part of it.
“I can’t wait to get stuck in, and hopefully I’ll be able to make my debut on Tuesday.
“I just love how ambitious the club is, and the kind of support it gets, and I want to be a part of it.
“I had a long think about it, because the travel was a big commitment, and I decided to have a go at it.
