Lee Picton was appointed as South Shields Football Club’s chief executive in November 2020 after a hugely successful four-year period as the first-team’s joint manager.

During his time as joint manager, Lee had a sizeable influence on the overall cultural development of the club and demonstrated inspirational leadership qualities and vision, leading to his promotion onto the board.

As the main person responsible for the day-to-day running of the club, Lee’s impressive background as a player, coach and manager in non-league football is a real strength which helps to balance the decision-making and strategic development of the club on and off the pitch.

He has been instrumental in the project to construct a new main stand at 1st Cloud Arena and has a very ambitious vision for the club to set a new benchmark for others in non-league football in terms of how it operates.
