Information for supporters ahead of Consett game as restrictions ease

Tuesday’s pre-season friendly between South Shields and Consett will be the first match held at 1st Cloud Arena since most remaining Covid restrictions were lifted.

The change in rules brings with it a number of consequences, most notably allowing us to welcome more supporters into the ground after the capacity had been capped at 975 for the pre-season opener against Stockton Town on Saturday.

Because of that, cash turnstiles will be in operation on Tuesday, although supporters are encouraged to buy tickets in advance to help minimise queuing. Tickets can be bought online by clicking here.

Supporters without pre-bought tickets can pay for their entry at turnstiles 3, 4, 5 and 6, with turnstiles 1 and 2 to operate on a ticket-only basis. At this stage, we are unable to accept card payments at the turnstiles so fans looking to pay for admission on the day are asked to bring cash. Moving forwards, we are looking to have provision for card payments at the turnstiles and hope to have this in place in the near future.

The turnstiles will open at 6pm ahead of the match kicking off at 7.30pm.

Bar service will now resume in each of our bars and the marquee, with table service no longer a requirement.

Food and drinks will also again be sold from our outdoor kiosks as a result of the lifting of restrictions. They will be open from 6pm.

The balcony will again operate at full capacity from Tuesday’s game onwards.

Mask wearing and social distancing are no longer requirements but supporters are urged to consider others at all times to ensure all fans have the safest and most enjoyable experience possible.

The issue of mask wearing is now one of personal choice. Please respect all viewpoints and if you feel more comfortable wearing a mask, we encourage you to continue to do so, particularly in crowded areas.

If you are displaying symptoms of Covid, please do not attend the match.

We acknowledge that the lifting of some of these restrictions will bring with it mixed views for many people but we encourage our supporters to respect others at all times and keep each other as safe as possible.

Thank you for your continued support and we very much hope to see you on Tuesday.
