Huge week for Under-15s

South Shields Under-15s have a busy week ahead.

The Russell Foster Youth League season ends on Sunday, May 17 with an away trip to Swalwell, but before that, the lads have two huge games which may decide promotion, and even the championship.

On Sunday, May 10, the young Mariners travel to Sunderland to face Plains Farm in an 11.30am kick-off at Plains Farm Academy. Postcode: SR3 1SU.

A win would set them up for a decisive home game on Tuesday evening against a strong Hetton side on the 3G pitch at Mortimer Community College, in Reading Road, South Shields. Postcode: NE33 4UG.

In the reverse encounter earlier in the season, the Shields lads won a very tough encounter 3-2 thanks to a double by Alex McBeth and a well taken goal from Tom Birkett.

Shields will be again hoping for a strong turnout from supporters at their final home game of the season, and Mariners fans will be expected to turn up the volume in their vocal support for the youngsters to match a very vocal away contingent.

Kick-off on Tuesday evening is at 6.15pm, and all support is welcome.
