Golf Day Results
South Shields FC held its golf day at Boldon Golf Club last Friday.
The day was again a success, and the four-man Texas Scramble team competition was won by Jon King, Steve Hale, Brian Priestley and Steven Judd, with 63.8 strokes.
Nearest the pin on the third hole was won by Chris Locke.
Nearest the pin on the fourth hole was won by Trevor Watson.
Nearest the pin on the 12th hole was won by Jimmy Elliott.
Nearest the pin on the 16th hole was won by Steven Judd.
The longest drive on the seventh hole was won by Robert Carlisle.
The football sweep for the time of the first goal scored in the Liverpool versus Everton derby was won by Chris Smith in the 65th minute.
The football club wishes to most sincerely thank Boldon Golf Club and its officials for their much appreciated kind hospitality in helping to make the day a success.
Particular thanks are given for an excellent course in top condition, which attracted special praise from competitors, and to the bar and kitchen staff for both drinks and the meal.
The club would also like to sincerely thank all concerned for kindly donating the raffle prizes, and to all competitors and good friends for helping the club in its second golf day of the season.
For the interest and information of all golfing friends and sponsors of the football club, arrangements and plans are now in process for a big tournament to be held next July at South Shields Golf Club course on Cleadon Hills. All details will be released in due course.
