Today’s Northern League Division Two clash between South Shields and Thornaby has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
An inspection took place at 11am this morning, and the surface at Eden Lane in Peterlee was deemed unplayable.
The postponement extends Shields’s run of weeks without a league fixture. They have not played in the league since December 28.
Their next scheduled game is next Saturday, at Heaton Stannington in the league.
Full details of the rearranged fixture against Thornaby will be released in due course.
