Fog forces another postponement

Last night’s Northern League Division Two clash between South Shields and Ryton and Crawcrook Albion was postponed due to the fog.

On arrival at Eden Lane, it was immediately apparent the game was in some doubt due to the conditions.

The officials inspected the ground at around 7pm and again at 7.30pm, before deciding the game could not go ahead.

The postponement means Shields still have four more matches to play before their league campaign is completed.

The two clubs will now talk to decide on a rearranged date.
