Esh Winning vs South Shields Preview
By Bob Wray
The Mariners provide the opposition for current second bottom club Esh Winning at the West Terrace ground on Saturday, with kick-off at 3pm.
Perhaps and hopefully the return of striker Peter Kane may provide some missing fire power to the front line if available for selection, following the continuing recent lack of goals recorded in a sequence of disappointing results from indifferent performances.
One recalls with pleasure his hat-trick against Hebburn Town last season.
Dan Hindmarsh is apparently to be absent as reported for some weeks due to work circumstances, and Kenny Ball’s future situation with the club is uncertain. They are two players capable of providing good team contributions when needed.
Others such as Robert Haney, Liam O’Mahoney, Brett Wilson plus a few others are to date unseen and unsighted from a yet 48 strong squad list – whether current or otherwise, and quite numerous others seemingly now forgotten men as posted on the league site, the second largest paper squad in the league.
Winnable points continue to elude Shields and the visit to Esh could and should see a return to winning ways and three valuable points against a team that has conceded 57 league goals to date, we shall see ….
