Club Statement: The restaurant at Mariners Park

The carvery at Mariners Park has been closed since Sunday, and chef Carl Ferguson has now confirmed that he will no longer be operating from the ground.

The club has therefore taken the opportunity to fully refurbish the kitchen, and it will remain closed for a couple of weeks. However, the bar will be open as usual from 5pm until 9pm each weekday.

We are excited by the opportunity to introduce a rebranded restaurant which will be open for lunches as normal very soon, with not only the carvery but an expanded menu offering variety and some lighter meals.

The club is also looking to extend the hours of service, catering in the evenings for food also, and will be offering various offers and promotions.

Geoff Thompson, the club’s Chairman, said: “It’s very important to the club that the fans and local residents use our fantastic facilities here at Mariners Park on a daily basis.

“As well as getting delicious food and great service, your contribution helps the club continue its momentum forward and to invest in the team.

“We do think it’s time we did things a little differently and we will try new ideas as we progress, but we still need our supporters to back us by coming along and joining us on the journey to achieve our common goals.”

There will be more details to follow in the very near future regarding a new name for the restaurant and the re-opening date. Thank you for your understanding.
